Important Policies To Know For Your Ride

HandleBar Detroit ride is all about creating a unique way to explore downtown Detroit. Believe it or not, pedaling around town on your own mobile pedal pub brings with it a few rules of the road. Please see below for some important rules and policies we have.

HandleBar Cancellation Policy

Every rider can move their tour date or cancel their tour up to 7days in advance. Moving your tour date is completely free and can be done by emailing us at gm@handlebardetroit.com. However, canceling your tour will result in a $50 fee for credit card and software booking fee.

Sorry! There are no refunds or rain checks for tours cancelled less than 7 days out!

HandleBar Tour Payment Options

All HandleBar tours must be paid with a credit card online. That means full payment must be made with a credit card when you book.

Credit card options include: Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

HandleBar Damage & Late Fee

The HandleBar reserves the right to charge your credit card follow the tour, if necessary. Since The HandleBar is powered by its passengers, they control the speed at which the tour progresses. For scheduling purposes, however, it is necessary that the tour end on time. There will be no Damage/Late Deposit charged if the HandleBar returns to the starting point on time and undamaged.

We reserve the right to charge the card on file for cost of damages or being late ($200 for up to 30 minutes late). Don’t worry too much about this- we’ve never had to charge anyone!

HandleBar Reminders

Liability Waiver: Each and every HandleBar Detroit pedal pub rider must complete an E-Waiver on the day of their tour. Your driver will ask to see all confirmation emails showing the waiver was completed and cross reference with your valid ID.

Photo ID: All riders must provide photo ID at the time of the tour.

FAQ: We encourage every rider to visit our Frequently Asked Questions before their tour to get a better idea of The HandleBar experience.

Number of Riders: The max number of riders per pedal pub bike is 16. Due to city of Detroit regulations, we can not make any exceptions or we would lose our business license to operate.

SMS/Email Privacy Policy and Terms of Service: When signing your waiver, you will be offered the option to opt-in to post-trip SMS/email communications from the HandleBar.

All customer information is kept within The HandleBar, LLC and never shared with any 3rd party. You will have the option to opt-out at any time by responding “STOP”.

Credit Card Privacy: We ask for your full name, email, cellphone, credit card information and billing zip code at the time of booking.  This information is kept private by our booking software provider and not shared with anyone using a SSL encrypted website.
